Thanks!! & No, but thank you anyway.

Hello people who take the time to visit this. This a Thanksgiving themed blog. So, I will state what I'm thankful for, and a lil' of what I'm not.
     THANKFUL
For the people who are always there for me. For the ones who weren't that taught me that valuable lesson. For those I can trust. For those who proved that's not a trait everyone possesses. For those who returned, to prove things don't always just end. For those who were stupid for me, so that it became one less mistake I make [possibly]. Basically, for all those who helped shape me. Also, for the luck the people in my life and I have. For the health most of us have. For the love some of us have, for the ones who think they have it and truly do, and for the hope that the rest will in the far/near [pendant on age] future. For the fact we're all pretty well-off when it comes to being alive haha [as in have a home or some sort, a money source, food source, you know,  basic needs.]. And various various other things.
NOT-THANKFUL [warning, some things above will be here because they happen to be both]
For lies. They don't help. Even when someone is at one of their worst times and you think avoiding something is the best, veeery rarely does it end up as such. Also, when to make someone feel better, when they find out it's a lie, usually makes it that much worse. Other examples, but yeah. For distrust. If you know your one of those people who can't keep things to themselves, or keep up on a promise or a ride or something, then try not to offer to listen/do that thing/etc. Unless you don't mind hurting people, then I guess you don't know the difference. For the need of some people to purposely hurt people for no reason or a reason that honestly doesn't make sense. Immaturity. Everyone has it from time to time, same as rudeness, people have their days, but see, there are certain things that go to far. With rudeness, I understand, sometimes it just happens. With immaturity... I don"t even know. There are more things under this category I'm not thankful for, but I must move on. For the fact that some countries at different times didn't/don't help when they could/can help major situations but chose/choose not to. For the unjustices of the world that can't be helped. And more but... jeez.. can;t say. Haha... sorry.. sooo much in this world I think about.

Ok. So, I was told the blog was about overall thankfulness, not the thankfulness of someone in the classroom... sigh. So, here's an add-on :).
Well... I am thankful for everyone in the class because they help make it how it is. Though I can;t go into detail about all of them for I do not know all of them. May I add how I love the fact the blog keeps underlining blog as if it's spelled wrong / does't exist xD sorry. Anyway, Let me get back on subject. I am thankful for Mr. McCarthy, because he's the teacher, and the reason the class is as is for some part. I am also thankful for the 'gossip' group because they always say random stuff that our little group (Simon, Faith, Johnetta, Mauricio, Cyerra, maybe Shiloh, and others come and go) overhears haha. We have our own mini escapades sometimes, depends. I am thankful for everyone who states their opinion for a) everyone should be heard and b) not everyone thinks about it like that, sometimes it's horrid, sometimes interesting, sometimes just unbelievable {not necessarily in a OMG fashion but also an awing or fascinating way}. I'm thankful for the silent people, because their mysterious, and you need that in your life you know ;)  haha. Although, they should speak up from time to time on their own. No need to be shy, but that's just my opinion.
Uuuuuuumm let's get specific?? Well, I'm thankful for Mauricio, Faith, and Cyerra, for knowing that I used to read the Journal of the day for Mauricio because he couldn't see, although Mr. McCarthy didn't believe me. I am thankful for the people who listen and aren't judgemental, just helping to keep the debate/conversation/etc. going. I'm thankful for everyone for being them. And.... I don't wanna get specific.. gah!! Well... Carlos, Mauricio, and Cyerra for being spontaneous, Faith for making me one of her wifeys and not getting cbaodefvbowsfurious when I taught her a lesson {xD}, Simon for being cool. And well, jeez I'm thankful for the whole class 'cause it's Mr. McCarthy's 2nd period :D what else can I say?? It's just one those classes you don't walk in going uuuugh [unless it test/quiz/etc. because no one really likes those].

Plow.. plow.. plowplowplowplow . . . P-L-O-W!!

Well... if you didn't know... there's a new type of pokemon in town.
No, I'm not kidding.
It's name is Plow.
Element[s]: Earth, water, electricity
Powers: Snow blast [lose 50 life], Water blast [lose 50 life], Electricity overload [lose 100 life], Earthquake [ lose 65 life], Overload [self-distruct; lose 150 life points]
This is special pokemon. It's moderately - highly powerful.
Enemies: Fire, Mystic, etc.
Bio: IN the snowy mountains.. one day spontneously appeared a family of PLOWs. Early on, they seperated their own ways. One, a nice little family took in, and he turned out to be useful for not only winning other Pokemon, but for in Winter, snow blasting all the snow from the path to town, or in Spring to water blast big puddles out of the path.

A little info on the Plow :)

modern day slavery

Well it's most definitely still around. It may not be as in-your-face here any more, but it is in some places, and it's still just as horrid as it was before.
For some it's in the form of major  underpayment, for some it's for the right to survive, for some it's for nothing besides the fact they have to. It's in shoemaking, blanket-weaving, in company lines for different parts of making something.
Then, they get mistreated worse. Some get sold out, some get beaten [even to death], some die from what they're working on, etc. The list goes on.
Well... I don't have much to say on this topic for I highly dislike these things and choose not to speak of them haha.

The Unknown.... the Interesting... the One.. the Only. Nathaniel Hawthorne.

Well, an interesting fact I found was that I could find how a family [3 generations of 1] owned the house, built in 1668. The Turner family before they sold it to a Captain Ingersoll, who gave it to his daughter, who's cousin is *surprised gasp * Nathaniel Hawthorne. So.. I've heard this book [House of 7 Gables] is non-fiction... so it may be... if he changed the names... yet I'm unsure. Also, due to him losing his father [also a Nathaniel Hawthorne] at age 5 due to a voyage he went on, him. his mother, and 2 other siblings had little wealth and had to move in with their family, the Mannings. Due to this, as an adult he found a 'literary outlet' for his childhood experiences.
Now, some info on Salem [BwaHaHaaaaaaaa 3=)}  ]. I knew the witch trials existed and that they were as bad as books made them out to be.. yet reading 'The Crucible' [past book] I thought thru-out the reading "I could never falsely call out somebody.. especially to possible death!!". Yet, all these female, my age, a lil older and a lil younger... and some a lot younger [4ish] were doing just that, and only one felt enough remorse to try to get everyone out of it... sigh. I found out this story was true. John Proctor, Elizabeth Proctor, their boys, Goody Nurse, Goody Good, Mr & Mrs Giles, Abigal.. they all existed, and this happened [excluding the affair b/tween Mr Proctor and Abigal Williams, which then confuses me a lil cause' it's partiaclly a main (oxymoron-ish xD) reason why these trials happened as they did with such force and such turns even happened] but yea.
So, to me, these were some interesting facts I found.

Being American is like being someone who takes too much for granted without even knowing it... and I'm proud??

The title is an exaggeration. Not every American is like this but there are various who are. Honestly, being an American is a lot of things that I only I few of because I am one. For someone outside looking in, they can say most. And the person next to them can add on and a person from every other nation can converse about us possibly better than we can. Just a thought c(=
Well... I guess I can say I realized I was an American when I realized how free w/ limits [haha oxymoron xD] I was. There are places where you honestly have to watch what you say and do with way more limitations then us that if I went to live there, and I didn't know them all,I could possibly be sending my self to death. I go out in public w/ too little clothes on and get beaten and looked down upon and called a whore for it, and all I might've done is forgotten my facial scarf that day.
For men, it's easier, but there's still a 'lil thing males and females both do that can get you killed in some places.. like adultery.
Also, we are getting close-ish.... eeh... kinda to equality in the U.S. but yeah. I guess that's it. This isn;t a very good topic for me =p. SO, that's when i realized i was an American.

Never fully apart... Never completely together...

War. Debate. Conflict. Arguments. Disagreements. Differences. Point of views. Beliefs. Realizations. Agreements. Stubbornness. Results. Peace/violence. Emotions. Separations. Silence.
There are quite a few things that cause vs. and ands [haha]. Things that separate some will bring together others, and some will never even know it happened.
Everyone will get in a dispute at some point in their life whether it's willingly or forced. It's a part of how our government even works. When your arguing, depending on what your trying to get done, shows how your fighting. Whether it's to win, to make it come to a close, to have everyone agree, etc. Yet, no matter how bad the argument is, no one is the exact opposite [though the argument may portray otherwise].
Opposing this, when people are fighting for the same cause, hoping for the same result, trying their hardest for the same result, they're never in complete agreement. Even on that topic, some think certain things should be done/ran differently. And from these to simplicities comes so many various outcomes depending just how large it can get to.
But, to sum it all up, I find this quote to fit perfectly to things like war, and if you change the words to other things. Fighting for peace is like making love for virginity. You will not accomplish the other by doing the first because it's impossible by meaning.

Proctor... hero or stooge... depends what your against and just how strongly your against it.

1] i know this is late... and im quite sorry =/
2]time to start :D
Ok... so... is John Proctor a hero or a stooge... overall i believe he's a hero, or at least he tried to be. Yes, he did sleep with Abigal Williams, the Preacher's niece, but he also ended it. He also has a wife. She knew and that's part of why it ended. He's also 1 of the very few people trying to help many innocent people, neighbors, not get not just killed, but hanged. He tried as hard as he could with all he could... it just so happened his wife decided to keep his good name... it just so happened the girl working in their house [Mary], also Abigal's friend, had a breaking point and is easily frightened... uum... persuaded... i can't think of the word but i mean she can become gullible under certain situations i guess =p.
It was just bad luck for the town basically... and 'religion' is the reason it all happened. Anyway, he could only do so much... then he finalized his heroism when he confessed what he was, because his wife kinda wanted him to, then when they tried to use him he didn't let them, and he ended up dieing anyway... because of 'religion'.

God hates you!! He can vaporize you WHENEVAH!!! . . . then why behave?? xD

Aaaaaaaaaaaah Puritans... from what I've heard about them... they live a not so fun [from how I've been raised] life.I mean going off what the preacher said... idk... from how I am how I'd take that as is as my title states. I mean, I understand how they were raised that this would make them quiver in fear and make them wanna behave that much more, but for me it just wouldn't.
" He can open the floodgates whenever he please, he could vanquish you, he wants to kill you, he's angry, furious, filled with rage towards you, and you, and even you *points at newborn*. God is a very angry man. He dislikes the human race. he can and wants to kill you. I'm not sure why he doesn't. You should pray to him everyday, respect his land, and the people who rule it. You should respect the rules of his religion, and of his land which for some odd reason he lets you thrive upon. He'll kill blah blah give respect blah blah death blah blah listen blah blah *growing distant* blah blah . . ."
Don't take how I end the statement as me disrespecting the religion. It's just repetitive with different ways of stating it to me. Well.. i understand to them this was oh my goodness we have to behave, we have to be good, we have to make him like us so we can keep our place in heaven. For me, 'cuz I'm how I'm, I would be like well... if I could die at any point [and this kinda is how i live xD] then why completely restrict myself?? Imma be me and see where i go. No, not go crazy and do whatever, but not be so stuck up. Go out when i can, still obey laws [except maybe curfew... xP], retain dignity and respect [myself and others (treat others how they you wanna be treated)], etc. a la me =]].
Well yeah... I feel if this is how all their preachers spoke that they were a little over lust-for-death-y =p. I guess if they calmed it down they would soon enough wonder why they have to do what they do if they won't get punished [again because of how they're raised]. So, I can understand, but... haha i would hate being Puritan xD [with this background].

There goes the neighborhood...

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell...
McKinley Park was at 1st mainly mexicans, & other latinos but mainly mexicans, some white people, and very few of anything else. It has been like this most of my life in this area which was since I was 3 years old. I went to school in my area 'til 5th grade, then went to FFAC on the northside, & now im here at Whitney Young =p
Aaaaaanyway... point is I know well off how and who used to be around. Recently, in the year 2010, a lot of asains are starting to come around. At 1st, it was just 1 day where they were doing they're stretches and the basketball court was 2 asain familys [weird i thought] and throughout park. I thought nothing of it.
Now, though, I notice them driving past my house walking around all in MicKinley park, I don't mind them, I have nothing against asians... it's just... perculiar.
It hasn't changed much yet, I think, buuuuuuuuuuuuut yea. I know others have noticed too haha but . . . yea.
I have nothing more to say on the subject... sooooo... I guess godbye, take care, and until you choose to read me again =]]

introduction

Hi, my name is Kate Martin. I got accepted into Whitney Young from testing in with a 984 or 986... cant exactly remember which. I mention this because I feel it's important to know who came in testing or by having teachers & or principal [as well] write and sign letters of commendation. My birthday is April 12, 1995.
Like any other person I have things which interest me and things that bore me. I am up to trying just about anything, but I usually prefer the more energetic, entertaining, & thrilling thing to do. I love the outdoors, especially at night. I also love music. I like to dance & play any sport, though I'm pretty bad at some and bad at certain aspects of the rest which make me good at none of them.
I can get bored easier when tired. I also get talkative at awkward moments [if in a  place to do so] or when bored just to have something going on. I hate being forced to read something I'm not interested in, which is why i highly dislike history. Most of it is boring to me. When it comes to literature, there are many things that interest me, but there are some things that just make me want to throw a book away.
Well... personality-wise, I've been told I'm a pretty good person overall. I know I can be rude at times, but who does't have those days? I feel bad when things come out at wrong people [and especially hate hurting anyone else even more so if I deeply care]. I'm usually content but depending on what's going on, i may actually be different. I've been through ups and [mainly] downs in my life, I learned from them, and became who I am. When I didn't like something happening to me I decided not to do it to someone else [purposely].
Like when i saw rudeness... which i covered earlier; same concept with lies to honesty, mistreatment to over-caring, and too optimistic to being realistic.
So... this is an overall of basics... there's a lot more and detail to this book.. but this is an introduction that I don't even think was suppose to be like this... but oh well... this is somewhat me [ in my eyes and opinions of some others].
